FCCA Angie Award

Past Award Recipients

The Angie Award was created in 1982 to honor the memory of Angelo “Angie” Locascio, former Clerk of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. This award is only presented when a clerk of a federal court has consistently displayed, over a sustained period of time, those highly commendable qualities which Angie possessed, including: an unrelenting commitment to improving the administration of justice; fearless pursuit of his or her causes and goals regardless of their popularity and unblemished integrity.
Eligibility:	Any FCCA member who is a Clerk of Court, and has demonstrated the unique qualities shown by Angelo Locascio, is eligible for the Angie Award.
Nomination Process:	Any FCCA member may nominate a Clerk of Court who is a member for consideration of the Angie Award. Nominations shall be submitted to the Chair of the Clerks’ Council. Nominations received after April 15th will be considered for the following year.
Number of Awards:	The Angie Award is a specialized award and will not necessarily be awarded on an annual basis. This award is intended to honor those deserving individuals who have demonstrated leadership, professionalism and an unrelenting commitment to improving the administration of justice.
Selection Criteria:	In considering whether an Angie Award should be awarded, the Clerk’s Council shall consider applications on the basis of the following criteria: The nominee must be both a Clerk of Court and a member of the FCCA; The FCCA member must have consistently displayed, over a sustained period of time an unrelenting commitment to improving the administration of justice; The nominee’s contributions shall have been both to the Federal Court Clerks’ Association and the federal courts in general; The nominee must have demonstrated leadership and the fearless pursuit of goals regardless of their popularity; and, The nominee must have unblemished integrity.
Selection:	The decision of whether to select an individual as the recipient of an Angie Award shall be by majority vote of the Executive Board of the Clerks’ Council. If a member of the Clerk’s Council is nominated for this award, they shall not participate in the selection process. If a recipient is chosen, the Awards Chair shall be notified no later than May 15th.
Awards:	The award winner will receive an Angie Award plaque at the annual conference and an article will be written about this award winner for publication in the FCCA Journal. The name of each Angie award winner will be engraved on the original Angie Award in the District Court House in the District of New Jersey.
